About Castle Downs

Castle Downs is a residential area in the northwest portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. The area was originally called Athabasca downs, but when the city rejected that name for what they felt were too many African associations with slavery and colonization – so developer used Castle Downs as their second choice.

The names of the communities were based on European castles, and Castle Downs became the first area in Edmonton to be named in a thematic way. According to former Names Committee secretary Nancy Diettrich “The castles were chosen to recognize the different ethnic groups in the area.”

The Castle Downs neighborhood in Edmonton, Alberta is a classic example of how planning can transform an area into what was once nothing more than pastureland. The original adoption by City Council resulted with the establishment of this landmark community at its northern reaches back when horses were still commonplace throughout most neighborhoods across Canada.

The Castle Downs Transit Centre is a great place to stop for the night if you’re travelling on your bike. The centre features bike racks, an ample shelter and pay phone so that riders can call ahead before arriving at their destination or resuming travel once completed with business proceedings! There aren’t any bathrooms available but there are vending machines inside should someone get hungry during this transitory experience – which hopefully won’t happen too often considering how much fun I am sure riding outside would be… Source: Wikipedia

Study Permit

A study permit is an official document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) that allows foreign nationals to study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.

A DLI is a post-secondary educational institution, such as a university or college, that is officially authorized by the Canadian government to accept foreign students. To obtain a study permit, you must first obtain an acceptance letter from a DLI confirming that you have been accepted into a full-time academic, professional or vocational training program.

You will then need to submit an application to CIC, along with the required documentation, including your acceptance letter, proof of financial support and a valid passport. Once your application has been processed, you will receive your study permit, which will allow you to legally study at a DLI in Canada for the duration of your program.

If you plan to study in Canada, it is important to ensure that you obtain the proper documentation before you arrive. A study permit is an essential piece of documentation for any foreign student studying at a DLI in Canada.

Permanent Residence (PR)

Immigrating to Canada can be a long and complicated process, but it is very rewarding to finally achieve permanent resident status.

As a Canadian permanent resident, you have most of the same rights and privileges as a Canadian citizen, with a few exceptions.

For example, you are not allowed to vote or hold certain types of government jobs. You may also be required to renew your permanent resident card every five years. However, you are free to live and work anywhere in Canada, and you have access to free health care and public education.

If you decide to become a naturalized Canadian citizen, you will need to meet certain residency requirements and pass a citizenship test. However, as a permanent resident, you are already well on your way to enjoying all that Canada has to offer.
